Practical Information:Passport and Visa:
A valid passport is required, with an expiration date at least 6 months beyond your stay. Apply for a visa approximately 14 days before departure via the official eVisa website. Remember to apply for a 3-month visa, which requires a passport photo and must be printed in two copies upon receipt. The visa fee is USD 35.

Vaccinations:
A yellow fever vaccination is required only if you are arriving from a country with a risk of yellow fever transmission. In such cases, proof of vaccination must be presented upon entry. This does not apply to travelers from most Western countries, where yellow fever is not a concern.

Travel Insurance:
It is mandatory to obtain travel insurance that covers illness and repatriation for the entire duration of your stay.

Accommodation:
From $200 - $600 per month, depending on your standards and needs. Additional information is needed regarding this.

Your Journey:
You are responsible for booking your flight to Siem Reap. Affordable tickets can often be found on platforms like Momondo. Upon arrival, someone from the school will greet you at the airport, help you settle in, and show you around.

Currency:
Payments can be made in both USD and Riel. ATMs allow withdrawals in either currency, with the exchange rate typically at 1 USD = 4000 RIEL. It is common to pay in USD and receive change in RIEL. Card payments are accepted only at larger retail chains and restaurants, incurring a 3% fee.

Cost of Living:
The cost of living is generally very low. Here are some typical prices:

  • Beer: $ 1

  • 1.5 liters of water: $ 0,5

  • Smoothie: $ 1

  • Caffe latte: $ 2

  • Meal at a restaurant: $ 2-8

  • Laundry (1 kg): $ 1

  • SIM card: 6 USD at the airport; 2 USD in Siem Reap.
    Bargaining is expected at markets, typically reducing prices by about 50%.

Transportation:
Tuk-tuks are a convenient and inexpensive option (always agree on a price beforehand). Download the GRAB app for easy and affordable transport services. Renting a scooter is also an option.

Your Work:
You are expected to be at school from Monday to Thursday, from 6:45 AM to 1 PM, with Fridays to Sundays off. Your primary role will involve assisting in English classes, especially engaging with children during breaks to help them practice their English through play and activities. Your presence will significantly impact the students' school experience, and participation in various school projects and social events outside regular hours is encouraged.

Siem Reap:
Siem Reap is located just a few kilometers south of Angkor and serves as the capital of Siem Reap Province. It is a larger city in northwestern Cambodia with approximately 230,000 residents. The city features a charming atmosphere, particularly in the old French quarter and around the old market, showcasing colonial architecture and Chinese influences. Visitors can explore intriguing museums, souvenir shops, silk factories, vibrant night markets, and numerous pubs and restaurants offering delicious food at low prices. Additionally, there is a new outdoor shopping area designed like a village with various shops, stalls, cafes, and restaurants.
